Possible Chaos In Wonderland. by Caroline Miller. good grammar or straight-jacketed style?, “The book your are holding is therefore a nice little just-published oblong-shaped attractively colored much needed hardcover textbook.”. The Frog Footman seems to expect nothing less than total chaos. Alice attempts to fit the Frog Footman’s behavior into a logical structure, failing to understand that Wonderland’s order is defined by chaos.

Since its publication over years ago, Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has inspired a raft of adaptions and reimaginings. References pop up in far flung places, from James Joyce’s nigh-unreadable Modernist tome Finnegans Wake to s reefer madness tract Go Ask Alice. (Pardon me as I wax pedantic, but what we tend to think of as “Alice in Wonderland” is two. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass record the adventures and exploits of one little girl through a variety of strange fantasylands. Exploration in these books is a playful romp through the nonsense-world of one's imagination. The world itself is explored, but so are the mind, language, and the limits of reason and knowledge.

The allusion to a Wonderland or a land of wonder hints that the story is about imagination and wanting to have an adventure or entertaining stories seem to me to parallel Gnostic teachings of the fallen goddess of wisdom, Sophia. Due to overwhelming demand from the public, a revised Second Edition of the book has since been released with an elaborate new cover designed by Kirsty herself. In October the Limited Edition of the Wonderland book was awarded an honourable mention in the Professional Fine Art Book category at the annual International Photography Awards.
